Man United and Chelsea quoted record breaking fee for in demand midfielder, club desperate to keep hold of star

Paul Pogba juve

Those in the Transfer Tavern have had to take a step back following reports emanating out of Italy that Paul Pogba will command a Premier League record fee should he be prized away from Juventus this summer.

Since leaving Manchester United back in 2012, the Frenchman has gone on to become one of the hottest properties in world football after excelling with the Old Lady.

He’s been a major part of their amazing run this season that led to them winning their fifth consecutive Serie A title, despite a slow start to the campaign.

With the Red Devils and Chelsea, as well Real Madrid and Barcelona, all thought to be interested in the services of the marauding Frenchman, he looked like being one of the stories of the summer.

However, Italian news outlet CalcioMercato claim the Serie A giants will not even entertain offers that come in less than the amount of €100m euros.

That equates to around £78m, far exceeding the current British record of £59.7m United shelled out for Angel Di Maria almost two years ago.

Hell bent on winning the Champions League, the club reportedly feel as if they can match the 23-year old’s ambition of doing so in the near future.

Is Pogba really worth the hype?
