Man United and Liverpool handed huge blow, rival club to swoop for talented midfielder and defender

Andre Gomes

With the title now wrapped up and the season drawing to a close, much of the talk in the Transfer Tavern has centred around the upcoming summer transfer window.

Though Liverpool and Manchester United still have an awful lot to play for this season, our punters who swear allegiance to the two North West giants are already talking up potential recruits ahead of next season.

Which, hopefully for them, will be better all round.

However, those who claim to be ‘in the know’ have been dealt a big blow following reports from Italian outlet Tuttosport

Dominant Serie A champions Juventus are reportedly lining up a double swoop for Valencia pair Andre Gomes and Shkodran Mustafi this summer.

The former is a midfielder who has been strongly linked with Manchester United, while the latter is a World Cup winning defender touted as a potential target for the Reds.

The Old Lady seem to be pressing ahead with an improvement in the Champions League in mind after they wrapped up their fifth consecutive domestic title after a stunning comeback following a slow star.

Who is a bigger loss? Gomes for United, or Mustafi for Liverpool?
