It was a dreadful day for Jesse Lingard on Saturday, who was dragged at half-time during the Manchester derby.
His was a name that was lamented often and loudly after a poor showing at Old Trafford on Saturday, though reports from the Sunday People suggest he’s in it for the long haul.
They claim the 23-year-old is in line for a new four-year deal with the Red Devils after breaking into the first-team under the stewardship of Louis van Gaal.
Progressing through the club’s academy, he has made 26 appearances for his boyhood charges in the league after being handed a chance by the Dutchman initially.
Now, he is reportedly set for a new deal at the Theatre of Dreams to further reflect his standing as an important part of the first-team.
