Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are discussing how their side will splash the cash this summer, with further names emerging on the club’s short-list in recent weeks.
Jose Mourinho still has the chance of a successful debut season at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils fighting for a spot in the top-four and also gunning for glory in the Europa League, where they face Spanish outfit Celta Vigo in the semi-finals.
United are already casting their eye towards summer deals though and The Daily Star reports the club are confident of bringing Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler to Old Trafford, although his current employers are pushing for a new deal.
The 20-year-old has a release-clause of £25m, which can be activated this summer, and the fact he’s managed by super-agent Jorge Mendes only increases the likelihood of a deal, as Mendes also acts as the agent for Mourinho.
Our landlord is concerned as to where the youngster would fit into Manchester United’s ranks though and feels the club may end up spending money for the sake of it.
