The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern did not enjoy deadline day. Indeed, our resident Red Devils were forced to watch their side lose at Wembley against a much better Tottenham side, while many of their title rivals spent big bucks to improve their squad.
While the signing of Alexis Sanchez over the course of the window did excite our United-mad punters, they’re eager to get their minds off of all things first-team following such an abject performance at the home of national football last night. With that in mind, confirmation on the club’s official website that a youngster had departed at least provided them with something different to talk about.
According to their report, Charlie Scott has been allowed to depart for Scottish Premiership side Hamilton Academical for the rest of the campaign. The 20-year-old, who has been a regular for the club’s reserve side, follows teammates Demetri Mitchell and Matty Wilock north of the border and will hope to bank more experience in first-team football.
Promising to see United allowing their youngsters to develop elsewhere. Rather than wait in the comfort of the Red Devils’ academy for a chance that may never come, the players themselves are also taking the chance to try and play some much-needed football.
