Man United continue mega money rebuild, two deals agreed

With Paul Pogba now firmly through the door at Old Trafford, the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are all but dancing on the pool tables.

Now the Frenchman joins Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Jose Mourinho, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly in the rebuild at the Theatre of Dreams, the Red Devils propping up the bar have cast their eyes on the Premier League title.

Still, much of the deadwood compiled during the post Sir Alex Ferguson era at the club remains in the squad, much to their chagrin.

However, could the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ finally be wielding the axe?

According to Sky Sports, United have agreed a £5.5m fee with Sunderland (and former manager David Moyes) for defensive duo Paddy McNair and Donald Love.

The pair were both used under the stewardship of Louis van Gaal amid the injury crisis at Old Trafford last term, though are not thought to have much future at the club.

Northern Ireland international McNair, who impressed at EURO 2016, is understood to cost around £5m initially, but the deal could reportedly rise to up to £7m.

Love, who made his Premier League debut at the Stadium of Light earlier this year, is understood to cost £1m.

Sunderland fans, happy with this business? Slightly untested, surely? Let us know below…
