Man United dealt blow in transfer pursuit as target reacts to big speculation

Following their loss to Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup last night, the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are certain their side needs some star power in order to compete at the highest level.

Indeed, the Red Devils have lacked that since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, despite the huge amount of money spent on trying to restore former glories at Old Trafford. So, reports from the Independent have only worsened the mood amongst our United-mad punters.

They’ve revealed that Gareth Bale has no interest in leaving the Spanish capital for Manchester, despite reports suggesting he would be made available for sale by Los Blancos.

”I’m concentrating on my football, I’m concentrating on getting my fitness up, I’m happy I’m playing football, I’m winning trophies, so yeah, I don’t want to move, there’s not really much more I can say”, said the 28-year-old.

“The club hasn’t said anything, we’ve spoke, they’re happy with everything and, yeah, for me, I just want to concentrate now on getting fit, on getting ready for the new season and playing as well as I can.”

Jose Mourinho admitted any attempts to land the former Tottenham Hotspur man were all but over after he played against them last night and this likely puts an end to a rumour saga that’s dragged on for what seems like years.

Desperate to see the Wales international don the famous red jersey, you can imagine how disappointed our resident Red Devils are about this. They were dreaming of Bale, though he’s not dreaming of them.

Landlord’s Verdict:

You can’t blame Bale. While he may find it hard to step out of Cr7’s shadow, why on earth would anyone want to leave Real Madrid?

The biggest club in the world and one that constantly wins trophies, Bale should stay in Spain.
