According to The Telegraph, Borussia Dortmund are ready to wait and see if the transfer market will stabilise before deciding whether to sell Manchester United target Jadon Sancho in the summer.
Earlier this year, reports suggested that Sancho is at the top of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s shortlist of transfer targets, and he has been repeatedly linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months.
However, football journalist Mike McGrath has revealed that Dortmund are willing to wait for the economic uncertainty to calm down, as the Yellow and Blacks value the England international at more than £100m.
The Red Devils were leading the race to sign the youngster in the upcoming transfer window, ahead of Premier League rivals Chelsea, Liverpool and his former club Manchester City, until the coronavirus pandemic brought proceedings to an abrupt halt.
Ever since he arrived at Signal Iduna Park from the Etihad for a mere £7m in 2017, the starlet has shone under Lucien Favre, scoring 14 goals and creating 15 assists in 24 games in the Bundesliga this season (WhoScored).
Sancho is arguably one of the most talented young footballers in the world and it is fair to say that he has already lived up to the reputation he acquired in recent years, as he is the German club’s leading goalscorer so far this season (BBC).
Manchester United are in desperate need of a prolific right winger, as Daniel James has struggled for consistency so far, and Ed Woodward should be digging deep into the Glazers’ pockets to sanction a move for the Englishman before the start of next season.
