Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been raving about Ander Herrera’s performances all season – to the extent that the relentless praise is beginning to grate on our landlord.
Nonetheless, it’s impossible to overlook how influential a figure the industrious Spaniard has been at Old Trafford this season, combining quality in possession with real tenacity off the ball.
United fans in the Tavern reckon he’s outshone world-record signing and midfield partner Paul Pogba for the vast majority of the campaign – and especially last Sunday when he produced a Man of the Match performance against Chelsea; scoring, assisting and man-marking Eden Hazard out of the game.
There have been slight concerns over Herrera’s future at the club, with his deal due to expire at the end of next season – albeit United privy to the luxury of a twelve-month extension option.
According to The Daily Mail, however, the Old Trafford outfit intend to offer the 27-year-old an improved £120k per-week contract this summer that will extend his stay at the club, much to the delight of Red Devils punters in the Tavern.
It’s further added that United do not expect any problems in negotiating the new deal with Herrera’s representatives, as the midfield ace stated in February that he’d like to open contract talks.
