Man United face battle to keep international star as Euro giants eye deal

Matteo Darmian’s Manchester United career has not been the success many predicted it would be following his arrival in the summer of 2015, but he’s won over some fans this term with his determined showings.

The Italy international looked to be struggling for game time under Jose Mourinho before filling in at left-back over the winter months.

However, he has recently fallen out of the first-team and reports from TuttoMercatoWeb claim that Roma are keen on him.

The Serie A giants are seemingly plotting their summer transfer business and see the former Torino man as a viable option.

Darmian is primarily a right-back, but has been known to function on the opposite flank and as a more advanced wing-back.

TMW suggest that plans are at an early stage but that the 27-year-old is seen as a potential target in Rome.

It remains unclear as to whether or not Man United would consider selling.

Matteo Darmian will be sold this summer – agree?
