Manchester United are relaxed about Angel Gomes' future at Old Trafford and are still holding talks with his agent, as per ESPN via @utdreport

Gomes has caught the eye of a number of European giants, including Premier League rivals Chelsea as well as Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, but United are reportedly unfazed by the transfer speculation despite the fact his current contract is set to expire at the end of next month. He will be able to leave as a free agent when the deal runs out.

Although Barca were genuinely interested in the England under-20 international, the La Liga leaders did not intend to give him first team football, which has been something of a disappointment to the teenager.

Sources told ESPN that the Blaugrana were actually looking to add the United academy graduate to Barcelona's B team, rather than the senior side alongside superstars like Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann. The transfer saga has dragged on all year and there could well be plenty more twists to come in the weeks ahead.

Understandably, many Red Devils fans tore into the "selfish" youngster on social media once the news emerged, with one fan tweeting he is "overrated" and another adding that "he's a joke."
