Man United fears prompting Mourinho to want midfielder deal forced through imminently

The Manchester United fans are packed into the Transfer Tavern today ahead of the club’s cup clash with Burton Albion later this evening.

Indeed, our resident Red Devils are in a rather good mood right now after a strong start to life in the Premier League and are wholly expectant of a win this evening.

With that in mind, our United-mad punters can focus on reports emanating from ESPN today.

According to their report, Jose Mourinho wants to tie up a new contract for Marouane Fellaini before the end of this year, with the Belgian able to discuss a move away to another country from January onwards.

While the 29-year-old is believed to be happy with life at Old Trafford, there is thought to be a fear that a lucrative offer from either Turkey of China could tempt the former Everton man into a move away.

Though he’s proven to be a divisive figure at United over the years, Fellaini does genuinely seem to have an important role under Mourinho this season.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Tying Fellaini down to a new deal does make sense for United. Able to change the game from the bench, losing him for free would be a nightmare and there’s certainly a place for him under the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’.
