Man United handed boost as European giants may have to sell

Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have excitedly ordered a new round to celebrate some fine news they’ve overheard, which has given them a huge boost in pursuit of a superstar.

An Independent investigation has revealed that Spanish giants Atletico Madrid may have to cash-in on their best players this summer, as Diego Simeone’s side battle with the financial implications of leaving the Vicente Calderon.

The controversial situation could see Atletico concede shares to Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim if they do not pay-back their loan quickly, with the Spanish giants owing €160m after taking out a loan to push through the development of their new home.

Due to open for the start of next season, Atletico’s debt is well-known and the move to their new home could force them to cash-in on their biggest assets; including Manchester United target Antoine Griezmann.

United have made Griezmann their top-target for the summer and their chances of signing the Frenchman have been increased following these reports, which our landlord believes makes it nigh-impossible for Atletico to keep hold of the striker.

Will Griezmann be a United player next season? Let us know in the comments below!
