While Jose Mourinho’s arrival at Manchester United is no doubt the dawning of an exciting new era for the club, the Red Devils in the Transfer Tavern are wary of the divisive nature of the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’.
Though he’s a serial winner, the 53-year old is almost everything the club aren’t and his appointment last month is likely to shake the very foundations of the club.
So much so in fact, that according to the Daily Mail, they are due to lose one of their greatest ever icons.
After being looked over as Louis van Gaal’s successor, the Welshman is believed to be eager to leave Old Trafford after 29 years and cut his managerial teeth in the Championship.
He has been linked with the Nottingham Forest vacancy, having acted as the Dutchman’s assistant for two years, as well as taking interim charge of the first-team for four games upon the sacking of David Moyes in 2014.
While no official approach has yet been made, the 42-year old is understood to be actively looking for a new job elsewhere, calling an end to a glittering spell with United.
Is Giggs going to the Championship a good idea? A huge risk for him and whatever club he ends up at?
