Man United in last ditch attempt to scupper Euro giants’ stunning Brazilian deal

Alves

Almost by the hour, sensational developments continue to unfold at Old Trafford now Jose Mourinho is firmly through the door as the club’s new manager.

The overhaul shows no signs of slowing down even with Euro 2016 just around the corner, with reports from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claiming the Red Devils are ready to make an 11th hour bid to scupper a huge European deal.

They claim that the club are ready to move in on Dani Alves’ proposed switch from Barcelona to Juventus, by offering the brilliant Brazilian the chance to move to England.

The 33-year old had looked set to call time on an illustrious career with the Blaugrana and make a move to the Old Lady, though it is understood both Paris Saint-Germain and United retain an interest.

Right-back has proved to be somewhat of a problem berth for the Manchester giants, with Matteo Darmian proving inconsistent since moving from Torino and Antonio Valencia appearing suspect when tasked with defensive duties.

Would Alves be a good short-term option for United? Could he still hack it up and down the flanks at 33?
