Man United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are getting desperate to hear news from Germany regarding their pursuit of Dortmund star, Henrik Mkhitaryan, with reports suggesting that United have upped their bid.
News filtering in from German website, Kicker, says the Red Devils have upped their offer for the 27-year-old to £35m in their bid to secure Mkhitaryan as one of Mourinho’s first signing as the new manager at Old Trafford.
United fans in the bar will be looking to have a few pints of TT Ale to calm their nerves over the move, as no one in the Football Transfer Tavern is too sure of when this deal will go through.
The Landlord has just emerged from the office and pointed out that Sky Sports reported earlier this week that a fee of £26.3m had been agreed between the two clubs. With all that in mind, United fans may have to wait a little longer to see the Armenian at Old Trafford.
Mkhitaryan, who scored 18 goals for Dortmund last season, could add some real bite to an attack that has been lacking the classic fear factor associated with United teams over the years.
United fans, what you are thinking! Are you as nervous as the punters at the bar? Will this deal ever go through? Let us know in the comments below!
