Manchester United have been flying high in recent weeks and the fans in the Transfer Tavern have been given further reason to celebrate today, after it was stated they’re favourites to complete an astonishing deal.
The Mail on Sunday states that Manchester United are the favourites to complete the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as his whopping price-tag is ruling Arsenal out of contention for the player’s signature.
Aubameyang has excelled with Borussia Dortmund since moving to Germany from French outfit Saint Etienne and his tremendous record this season has put the Gabonese striker amongst the most deadly forwards in European football.
Despite Dortmund’s rise back this season, with the club set to return to the Champions League next season, Aubameyang continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League- and the German side are likely to sell if they receive a massive honour.
With Aubameyang’s signature expected to fetch in excess of £70m, Arsenal have been left trailing in the wake of their Premier League rivals as the Gunners are unlikely to match such a fee.
Our landlord believes Arsenal need to start paying these prices though if they are to progress, otherwise they’ll simply miss out on players.
