Man United likely to complete another deal in the coming days

Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have flocked around the TV screen in the bar to hear the latest on their club, which indicates another high-profile exit is on the cards.

The Daily Mirror states Memphis Depay could complete a move to French outfit Lyon in the next 48 hours, with Jose Mourinho reportedly prepared to sell the Dutch international who has failed to settle in the Premier League.

Signed in 2015 for a fee of £25m from PSV Eindhoven, the Dutchman looked decent in the first few months of his time in England but his performances soon dipped, with Jesse Lingard surpassing him in the pecking order in the latter stages of last season.

Since Mourinho took charge in the summer, the 22-year-old’s opportunities have decreased further and he is now surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, which has now seemingly opened the door for the Oranje ace to seal a move to France.

Les Gones have already seen a £13m offer rejected this month but reports indicate the club have returned with an improved bid, with an exit from Manchester now imminent for the Dutchman.

Our landlord believes this is a good move for a player who still has bags of potential and he’s keen to see Depay perform in Lyon.
