With the Manchester United fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern waxing lyrical about the futures of both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney, it’s easy to forget there are other members of the squad!
Whether or not either will be lining up at Old Trafford next season remains to be seen, though reports from the Daily Mail have turned the collective minds of our resident Red Devils towards another forward.
According to their report, United forward Josh Harrop is of interest to Championship side Preston North End this summer. The 21-year-old made a dream debut at Old Trafford on the final day of the campaign just gone, notching a wonderful effort against Crystal Palace.
Still, he is out of contract with the Manchester giants this summer and surely faces a battle to break into the first-team next term. With the likes of Alvaro Morata linked, it’s hard to see the academy graduate getting much in the way of a look in.
Still, he’s thought to have been offered a new deal at the Theatre of Dreams, but the allure of first-team football may be difficult to resist at this stage of his career.
Though United boast a proud history in giving their youth prospects a chance, the Red Devils around the bar know it’ll be too much of an ask to see him stick around.
