Man United miss out on signature of £21m forward, deal agreed elsewhere

Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been eager to hear all the latest gossip surrounding their club but they’ve been handed disappointing news today.

Turkish-Football state Besiktas are set to make Anderson Talisca’s loan from Benfica permanent, following comments made from the club’s president Fikret Orman- who confirmed a deal has been secured.

“We have officially signed on his extension, his contract will run for another season.”

The move comes as a surprise as he was heavily linked with an exit this summer, with Turkish outfit Hurriyet stating last month that Manchester United were ready to approve a £21m swoop that would activate the 23-year-old’s release-clause.

Talisca has excelled on the continent this season, scoring 15 goals in 32 appearances, and Besiktas’ deal to secure his services is a major coup for the Turkish side- especially as he presents vast sell-on value in the coming years.

Our landlord believes Manchester United fans shouldn’t be too disheartened though as he feels better players will be captured by the Red Devils this summer and he’s urging fans to be patient.
