Amid rumours of Anthony Martial leaving Old Trafford once again occurring, Man United fans here and around the Transfer Tavern are suggesting names capable of filling the French void within the club.
Although in 2013 his move to Manchester United didn’t work out, based on current form, there is no reason why United shouldn’t try again with 25-year-old Wilfried Zaha.
Valued at £22.50 million on Transfermarkt, Zaha could be the man who is capable of replacing Anthony Martial for a fraction of the price. Zaha has again been Crystal Palace’s talisman this season and although the stats show he only has 4 goals and 3 assists in games, that doesn’t tell the story of how many times Wilfried Zaha has had a telling influence on the outcome of the game.
The skilful, tricky Ivory Coast international has earned the right to be in with a shout of returning to Old Trafford where his potential failed to blossom like what was believed. This time though, Zaha would come back with more experience and drive to succeed and take over the position of Anthony Martial, if he is to leave the club.
Us punters welcome this return having watched the brilliant Wilfried Zaha across the last few seasons. His flair and general personality fits right in at Manchester United and should their French star leave the club this summer, Zaha in our eyes, would be an adequate replacement.
Man United next year will be looking to better this season with the addition of silverware. Wilfried Zaha should be instantly drawn to Old Trafford in order to better his career and build on past mistakes.
