Man United need to look at exciting £7.2m-rated lynchpin to truly finish Mourinho’s defence

The Manchester United fans within the Transfer Tavern are hopeful of winning another trophy come the end of the season, having reached the FA Cup final.

It seems to have been a season of what could have been for the Red Devils, they looked so good and threatening to teams at the start of the campaign but ultimately died off in the latter stages. However Man United will not allow this to happen again and it’s expected that once more, they will spend a lot of money in the transfer market.

One player our punters think could be worth a gamble on is young German centre-back Felix Uduokhai, who is valued at £7.20 million on Transfermarkt. The 20-year-old players for Wolfsburg and has enjoyed a breakthrough season in the Bundesliga, playing in 18 league games thus far.

Tall and strong, the physical centre-back already looks to be a force and one forwards would struggle to get past. As a German, typically, Uduokhai likes to pass the ball around and feels comfortable doing so. He also isn’t afraid of putting in a crushing tackle, something that seems to be disappearing from the game.

Man United have capable defenders within their ranks but no one you could say would be their future star at centre-back. A way to get rid of un-needed talent would be to employ the German to progress his game with the Red Devils, like he has shown he would be capable of doing.

Man City have adopted this same approach in recent years – buying young defenders – so why can’t it work for Manchester United as well?
