Man United officials to make big decision over Mourinho next week

One of the dullest Premier League seasons in Manchester United history finished today with a relatively routine 2-0 over Crystal Palace.

For the punters in the Transfer Tavern, Jose Mourinho still has some convincing to do in the dugout at Old Trafford, though he could still win the Europa League and qualify for the Champions League on Wednesday.

With that in mind, reports from the Daily Mirror have proved rather interesting. They claim top brass at the Theatre of Dreams will decide whether or not to extend Mourinho’s deal during their final clash with Ajax in Stockholm.

The self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ is thought to have been on the verge of being offered a two-year extension and a payrise towards the end of last year, though that decision will now reportedly rely on winning the Europa League.

While he only signed a four-year deal last May, the Red Devils around the bar in the Tavern are inclined to agree that the 54-year-old needs to prove himself further.
