Over the past few months or so, the Manchester United fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern have begun to feel increasingly happy with life under Jose Mourinho and firmly believe the good times will once again roll at Old Trafford.
After a tough few years for the Red Devils, they believe the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ is the man to carry them forward and, while they understand he may be somewhat of a short-term fix, are largely delighted about the fact United have their swagger back.
That’s in no small part due to a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has taken to life in the Premier League like a duck to water. Despite doubts over his age, the 35-year-old is joint top on the highest goalscorer list with 14 and the Swedish superstar looks tailor-made for life on these shores.
So reports from the Sun have gone down a storm in the Tavern today. They claim top brass at the Theatre of Dreams want to keep the former Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain superstar for another year following his stunning start to life in England.
He penned a one-year deal upon his arrival in the summer of course, though it’s thought the club have an option to extend it by another 12 months should they wish. Ibra himself is understood to have gone cold on the idea of adding another year during a relative slump in October, though is said to be warming to it now following his stunning form.
As you can well imagine, the United fans in the bar are simply delighted about the idea of seeing him strut his stuff for another year.
