Celtic punters in the Transfer Tavern are cursing the Premier League and it’s knack for luring the club’s top stars to south of the border.
The likes of Virgil van Dijk and Victor Wanyama have left the Scottish champions for English clubs in recent years and The Daily Mail claim Manchester United are now tracking prodigious defender Kieran Tierney.
The 19-year-old shot to acclaim with an impressive performance in the Champions League against Manchester City earlier this season, not looking out of place against one of the most talented sides English football has to offer.
But Red Devils scouts had reportedly been watching the left-back before then and Head of Scouting Marcel Bout attended the Old Firm derby against Rangers prior to the international break.
It’s claimed a United representative is expected to be present when Celtic face Hearts at Tynecastle Stadium on Sunday to get another glance at Tierney, who switched flanks for Scotland’s win over Slovenia but managed to maintain his performance levels.
Arsenal are also reportedly keen on the £10million-rated teenager but United fans in the Tavern are keen for their side to secure Tierney’s services.
Left back has been a bit of a problem position for the Old Trafford outfit this term, with Matteo Darmian, Daley Blind, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and even Ashley Young filling in there already under Jose Mourinho.
