Man United rocked, Mourinho set for seismic Old Trafford departure

There will be plenty of toasts to the career of this Man United legend in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening, as Ryan Giggs looks to be heading for the exit door at Old Trafford after refusing Mourinho’s offer to stay on.

According to the Daily Mail, the former Welsh international has snubbed an offer from incoming boss Jose Mourinho, who was happy to offer Giggs a role as a coach in his new setup.

Now, he is thought to be undertaking the rather gruelling process of negotiating his final pay-off with his beloved club.

The 42-year-old will join ITV as a pundit for tonight’s Euro 2016 quarter-final between Portugal and Poland, and many a United fan will be gathered round the TV in the corner of the Tavern with a tear in their eye as it hits home that their hero is departing.

Giggs took the top job in an interim capacity after David Moyes was sacked in 2014 and was in-line to succeed Louis Van Gaal once his tenure at Old Trafford ended.

Having not been given the job it is reported that Giggs is not willing to take any other role aside form the managerial role.

United fans, how are you feeling about this? Would you have given your hero the big job or would you rather say farewell and give Mourinho the job? Let us know in the comments below…
