It’s beginning to feel like groundhog day for the United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern, every morning one outlet will claim the record breaking deal to bring Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford is done, only for that claim to be rubbished later in the day.
However, today the claims are coming from more reputable sources that usual. According to reports in the Manchester Evening News, the deal is done, and has been for some time, and the French international is set to be announced within the next week.
As per the reports, personal terms were agreed with the 23-year-old’s agent, Mino Raiola around a month ago, with the last stumbling block of the deal being the dispute between the two clubs over the super-agent’s sell on fee.
However, our Landlord has reiterated his daily warning to punters that this sort of report appears every day and is then followed by other, completely contradictory stories.
Although he does admit that because the reports are coming from a source of the MEN’s credibility, the saga may finally be coming to an end.
United fans, we want to hear from you! What do you make of today’s reports? Are they more reliable than normal? Let us know below…
