It’s been all go for the Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern in recent days. Indeed, the club have recently announced the signings of Fred and Diogo Dalot as Jose Mourinho plots a way to topple Manchester City next season, a hugely important year for the Red Devils and their manager.
Well, according to reports from Goal, things are going beyond behind the scenes too. According to their report, United are set to make an announcement about a sleeve sponsor soon after reportedly reaching an agreement of around £10m with American kitchen and bathroom manufacturer, Kohler.
The likes of Manchester City and Arsenal have big sponsorships on their respective sleeves and, while it’s not as if United are ever short on a bit of cash, the added revenue can only be a good thing. Indeed, the Old Trafford giants are understood to have missed out on a similar deal with dating app Tinder last year and it’s just another example of their commercial pulling power.
It’s been a big few days for United and, though it’s not quite a new signing, every little helps.
United are a commercial machine and keeping that up is important, especially in the context of the current transfer window. Prices are inflated – even to teams like United – and the idea of falling behind rivals in any kind of commercial sense could not become a reality.
Though United have bigger fish to fry, this is good news.
