Man United simply must acquire this world class £63m-rated midfielder to push for the title

Manchester United fans are dismayed by their team’s recent performances and this summer will be a much-needed time to reinvent Jose Mourinho’s side if they want to get closer to run-away leaders Manchester City.

A player with the potential to take United to the next level is PSG’s Marco Verratti, who is valued at £63.00 million on Transfermarkt. The Italian midfielder has been ever-present since 2012 when he first joined the French champions-elect. Verratti has gone from strength to strength as a player and is now considered one of the world’s best in that central-midfield role, there’s no doubt about that.

United have struggled in the middle of the park this season, despite all the money spent. With their usual talisman Paul Pogba failing to deliver, Michael Carrick retiring at the end of the season and Fellaini also potentially set to leave the club, the capture of Marco Verratti would come at a vital time for the Red Devils in order to build for the future.

This season, Verratti has made 35 appearances, scored two goals but has impressively collected 7 assists. The 25-year-old acts almost like a little terrier running around the pitch, making sure to never give the opposition a moments peace. Italian-born Verratti would be a huge coup for United if they’re serious about pushing on under Jose Mourinho next season.

United this campaign have already been swept aside by rivals Manchester City and also embarrassed by Sevilla, being knock-outed of the Champions League in a fairly pathetic fashion. The team needs a bit of bite and Verratti would go some way into helping bring that to the team.

Verratti would certainly be a step in the right direction and someone United must acquire to reform their midfield, our fans agree.

Thoughts United fans – Is Verratti a good solution to the current problems?
