Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting some big business from their club this month, but they’ve expressed their concerns to our bar staff, as most of the stories regarding Jose Mourinho’s side refer to outgoing deals.
Following Morgan Schneiderlin’s move to Everton yesterday, the future of Memphis Depay at Old Trafford is likely to get further coverage over the next few weeks but it appears there aren’t too many sides in for his signature.
ESPN report that French giants Lyon are the only suitors to sign the Dutch winger on a permanent basis, although the Ligue 1 outfit saw their opening offer for the 22-year-old rejected by the Red Devils.
Jose Mourinho’s side want £15m for the player they signed from PSV Eindhoven 18 months ago but Lyon’s opening offer was substantially less than that figure, although the bid lodged by the French side is unspecified.
Our landlord believes a deal will be completed before the end of the January window and does not expect Depay to remain with the Red Devils for the second-half of the season.
How much would you sell Depay for? Let us know in the comments below!
