Man United staff impressed at Carrington, player will join Man United squad in America

There was an awful lot to talk about at Manchester United last season, with the punters propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern rarely short on topics of discussion, even during the dreadfully dull unbeaten run under Jose Mourinho.

Still, not all of it was overly positive. Indeed, the Luke Shaw situation was often discussed by our resident Red Devils, with Mourinho publicly criticising the 21-year-old on numerous occasions.

However, reports from ESPN today have hinted at a change in the fortunes of the England international. They claim Shaw WILL travel to America with the rest of the United squad for their tour across the pond, after impressing the club’s medical staff at Carrington.

He’s been suffering with an ankle ligament injury over the last few months, though is said to have impressed staff with his dedication and commitment in trying to overcome it. Mourinho is believed to have been told about this and there is reportedly a belief within United that the former Southampton man is ready to realise his full potential.

While his time at Old Trafford has been difficult, the punters propping up our bar really do hope Mourinho can unlock the best in Shaw, who could feasibly go on to be one of the best full-backs in Europe.
