An unconvincing win in the Europa League hasn’t excited the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern all too much.
While life under Jose Mourinho has seen the Red Devils break world records, much of the talk amongst the Red Devils propping up the bar has been in regards to Wayne Rooney.
The 30-year-old’s dip in performances have been for all to see, with an ever-growing school of thought demanding his removal from the starting lineup for both club and country.
Still, as reported by BBC Sport, the England skipper has been assured for his place in the national setup.
Gareth Southgate will take temporary charge of the Three Lions until the end of the year following the Sam Allardyce scandal and is understood to view Rooney as a leader.
Following a dismal Euro 2016, the ex-Middlesbrough manager is believed to want as much continuity in the side as possible during the World Cup qualifying campaign.
Can Rooney still cut it for England? Let us know below..
