With so much talent to call on at Manchester United these days, the Red Devils in the Transfer Tavern have forgotten all about a certain Flying Dutchman.
Upon Memphis Depay’s arrival last summer, the Oranje star was hailed as the man who could potentially replace Cristiano Ronaldo at the Theatre of Dreams.
However, the 22-year-old has struggled to replicate the sort of form he showed at PSV Eindhoven since making a move to England.
With that in mind, comments made by him (cited by the Daily Mirror) have done little to scare the Old Trafford faithful propping up the bar.
The likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have emerged as first-choice wingers, with options such as Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata backing those up.
Considering the strength and depth available to Jose Mourinho, the Dutchman has admitted he could be forced to leave United should he continue to miss out.
“I am the same person and I know what I want,” he said.
“A supporting role is not for me. I’m not a player who is happy with the fact that he is under contract with Manchester United.
“This is my dream club, but I want to play.”
