The Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed a fruitful transfer window thus far. Indeed, Jose Mourinho has managed to bring in the likes of Fred and Diogo Dalot to strengthen his hand and our resident Red Devils are simply delighted, heading into the new campaign.
So, they’re delighted to hear reports from ESPN. While their story linking United with a move for Norwegian teenager Erling Braut Haaland is barely signing Cristiano Ronaldo or Neymar, the fact that the club have reportedly stepped up their attempts to land the youngster has proven promising.
Haaland’s father – Alfie – used to play for Manchester City and the talented teen has been impressing in his homeland. So much so, in fact, that United’s Scandinavian scout is understood to have watched the 17-year-old in action as he bagged four goals for Old Trafford legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Molde side against Brann over the course of the weekend.
As you can imagine, our resident Red Devils are certainly excited for the future, especially if he turns out anything like Solskjaer.
Clearly, United are looking to the future, which is great for the fans. While it’s unclear as to how much of an impact Jose Mourinho has on this deal, previous fears that the club would stop looking to youth development under his watch seem to have been allayed.
