Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have spent their morning discussing what looks to be an inevitable exit for a club legend.
The Daily Star reports that Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen has given her seal of approval for the ageing United legend to seal a huge deal in China, although she and their three children would not join him in the Far East.
Rooney, who recently became Manchester United’s all-time leading scorer, has attracted interest from China and would earn more in three-seasons in the Far East than he did in 17 years with the Red Devils which, naturally, is an intriguing opportunity.
With the Chinese transfer window not shutting until the 28th February, Rooney could move next month and a source confirmed the family was considering their options.
““It will take away his wife and family. Coleen knows it is Wayne’s job and he would be doing it for the family’s future. The money on offer is staggering. They are already more than set up for life but this will propel them into the stratosphere.”
“Because of all that she is willing to accept him going but she doesn’t want to move lock, stock and barrel too. Coleen is a home bird and loves her life in Cheshire with her family just down the road in Liverpool. She wants the children educated in England.”
Our landlord believes the end for Rooney in Manchester has been coming for a while and that a deal could well go ahead next month, something which are punters aren’t too comfortable with.
The Red Devils supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern can’t ever imagine seeing the striker depart Old Trafford for China anytime soon, with them all agreeing that it looks likely he’ll finish his career at the Manchester outfit.
