The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have always been somewhat worried that their chase of Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be interrupted by interest from the mega wealthy Chinese Super League.
However, the Red Devils have little to be worried about if reports emanating out of France are to be believed.
French daily L’Equipe, via the Daily Express, have claimed the superstar Swede will only consider a move to Asia if he were to be offered €100m a year, equating to an annual salary here of around £77m.
Though the CSL is emerging as one of the wealthiest leagues in world football, their transfer record being broken four times in one window, it seems unlikely the 34-year old could command that sort of salary even there.
He is, however, all but certain to leave the French capital this summer upon the expiration of his deal at the Parc de Princes.
A move to Old Trafford has been mooted for some time now, and despite his ageing years, the former Barcelona star has been in sensational form this year.
Is anyone worth that sort of money? Should United pursue Zlatan, no matter the costs?
