Manchester United fans aren’t in the greatest of moods today as their winning run was halted by Liverpool yesterday, and they’ve had to start the day with some negative transfer reports.
Monaco have been busy securing the futures of their stars on the continent and it’s not good news for Manchester United, who see two targets off the table following an update from the French principality side’s vice-president.
Quoted by ESPN, Vadim Vasilyev revealed the club had agreed a new deal with Fabinho and Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to follow.
“I’ve just extended Fabinho’s contract, and we’re doing the same with [Thomas] Lemar, Bakayoko and [Valere] Germain,”
Fabinho and Bakayoko, both reported targets for Manchester United, are two of Monaco’s prized assets and it’s no surprise to see the Ligue 1 title hopefuls tie-up their futures with the club.
Fabinho, 23, has featured in all but one of the club’s Ligue 1 matches in their charge to the top of the standings, whilst Bakayoko, 22, has played 24 matches across all competitions this season.
Our landlord believes a Manchester United deal isn’t necessarily off the table though but he has admitted it will cost the Red Devils a lot more to land the duo’s services.
