Manchester United and shambles. Words that seem to be appearing together way too often in sentences these days.
However, it is hardly uncalled for, is it?
Let's face it, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side is going to need major surgery to it this summer if they are to have any chance of getting back to their very best.
And, if they manage to acquire Thomas Meunier this summer, it will at least be a step forward for the Red Devils.
DHnet claim that Manchester United want to tie up a deal for the 27-year-old quickly and it is believed Paris Saint-Germain's €25million (£22.1m) valuation is not seen as a problem.
Manchester United need a new right-back this summer following Antonio Valencia's imminent departure and Diogo Dalet hardly appears to have the full backing of Solskjaer at the moment and Ashley Young does not appear to have too much left in the tank.
On his day, Meunier can certainly be considered one of the best in the game at that position and would have to be an upgrade on the options the Old Trafford outfit have available to them currently.
Defensively solid, the 27-year-old would also be an attractive option for United going forward with the lack of a right-winger in the team.
The Belgium international has the ability to go forward and provide the attack with some quality in the final third of the pitch, whilst he would also bring some flair to the right-hand side of the pitch with his attacking runs.
The fact that Meunier is also a fan of the club and has supported them since he was a youngster (DHnet), could also be something that works in their favour.
The defender would have a sense of pride and know what playing for the Red Devils means, which is something that appears to have been lacking on the pitch at times over the last season or so. Having someone in the team with that support could help to change the atmosphere in the dressing room and help a positive culture come through once again.
