Speaking to Ligue De Football via the Daily Mail, former Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria has hit out at his ex-club over making him wear the number 7 shirt, claiming he 'didn't get a choice' - with many Red Devils supporters since hitting back.

Di Maria, who made 32 appearances for United in all competitions whilst notching four goals and 12 assists during his time at the club (Transfermarkt), left Old Trafford just one year after he signed for a then-British record £59.7 million. Since then, the Argentine has gone on to play 211 games for Paris Saint-Germain - scoring 80 goals and assisting 85 others over an impressive haul.

However, four years after he departed Manchester, Di Maria has seemingly taken a swipe at his former club for making him wear the number 7 shirt over his preferred number 11 - with many United fans in utter dismay at the 'disrespectful' revelation.
