Manchester United: Ashley Young debut assist for Inter Milan prompts supporters to reminisce over ex-player

Serie A title-chasers Inter Milan may have squandered the chance to move within a point of rivals Juventus at the weekend, dropping points at home to Cagliari, but it was an arguably decent debut for ex-Manchester United servant Ashley Young who managed to bag his first assist in Italy.
Young, who moved to Inter on a permanent transfer earlier in the January window, did so after making 261 appearances for the Red Devils over a nine-year spell – racking up 19 goals and 43 assists for the Old Trafford club, as per Transfermarkt. The 34-year-old, who signed for the Nerazzuri on a six-month deal worth £1.5 million, put in a looping cross for the in-form Lautaro Martinez to bury at the far post – with the Englishman also accumulating a 7.7 rating for his performance via WhoScored.com.
Despite his new club dropping more points in the hunt for their first league title since 2010, Young still had something to celebrate with his debut assist, with these United supporters reminiscing over his time at their club as a result and hailing the ‘great professional’.
