Manchester United: Bruno Fernandes update in transfer pursuit of Sporting Lisbon star has supporters baffled

According to a report from Sky Sports which claims Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon remain in a Mexican stand-off over the Bruno Fernandes deal, with both clubs apparently £10 million apart in their valuation of the player, many Red Devils supporters have simply had enough of the saga.

Fernandes, who has registered a prolific 15 goals and 14 assists in all competitions for Sporting so far this campaign (Transfermarkt), is currently at the centre of a tug-of-war between his current club and the Red Devils who have been chasing his signature since last summer (Daily Express).

The Portuguese playmaker could be seen as the key to unlocking some creative midfield flair, with United’s current crop so far not cutting it in terms of numbers. Compared to current option Jesse Lingard, Fernandes surpasses the Englishman in almost every way – averaging 3.4 shots per game and 3.6 key passes while scoring eight goals and assisting seven others in the league, as per WhoScored.com.

As a result, a lot of Red Devils supporters are getting impatient over their failure to land the 25-year-old so far – with one fan slamming vice-chairman Ed Woodward’s ability to conduct transfer business compared to former chief executive David Gill.  Find all of their best comments down below.
