Manchester United’s patience with Paul Pogba and his patience with the club could be about to run out in the summer. Still, nobody is bigger than Manchester United, and Bruno Fernandes would prove what the Red Devils been missing this season.
Obviously, it’s going to take more than just one player to turn their fortunes around, but the 24-year-old would be the man to build a team around and not Pogba, whose attitude on and off the pitch has been appalling.
Frankly, it’s time for a change.
The Portuguese attacking midfielder is rated at £31.5m on Transfermarkt, but expect there to be a bidding war for him this summer. United should go all out for him, because if they get their man, he can signal the start of the rebuilding job Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has on his hands.
Abola via the Metro have linked United with the player, and it’s no wonder that Ed Woodward has earmarked him as part of their summer plans. His 19 goals and 13 assists from 30 league appearances is staggering and embarrasses United’s current crop.
Splashing the cash on Fernandes would make a big statement to the league. It shows that, despite them playing Europa League football next season, they can still attract Europe’s best talents. It’d warn the rest of the top six that United are coming back.
It’s key Solskjaer spends his money on the right players this summer. Fernandes would be world-class signing that would provide goals, work-rate and vision to this next generation squad United hope to build.
