Manchester United shared footage of David de Gea, Odion Ighalo and Paul Pogba going through the motions as the first team returned to Carrington training ground on Wednesday.
Players have been allowed to train together in small groups as the Premier League kicked off with the opening phase of ‘Project Restart’ (Evening Standard).
Clubs recently unanimously agreed to resume contact training as discussions continued to work out when football will return behind closed doors (BBC).
United’s official Instagram account posted videos of De Gea, Ighalo and Pogba practising different drills. Fans will surely be delighted to see Ighalo and Pogba wearing the Red Devils training kit after months of transfer speculation.
Indeed, Pogba has once again been the centre of attention over the course of the season so far, largely fuelled by the machinations of his controversial agent Mino Raiola, while Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus and Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid have registered their interest in the French World Cup winner.
Despite the fact he has only featured in 7 games in the Premier League for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this season, the 27-year-old has still scored 31 goals and produced 31 assists overall, winning the Europa League and picking up the League Cup ever since his return to the club (Transfermarkt).
However, the fact the Nigerian striker is still training at Carrington will no doubt give supporters hope that he may still stay at Old Trafford until the end of the season.
