Alexis Sanchez appears to be on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain as they look to relieve him from his current Manchester United misery. The United forward has had a horrible time since joining José Mourinho’s team in January from Arsenal, scoring only three goals in 19 Premier League appearances that has seen him be demoted to the bench on regular occasions.
According to the Sun, PSG could however soon offer Sanchez a way out of Manchester.
The 29-year-old, who is the club’s highest paid player with a mammoth £505 000-a-week contract, left Arsenal for the Red Devils four months before his deal at the Emirates would’ve run out, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan going the opposite direction.
But Sanchez has failed to get going at Old Trafford and the League 1 champions are looking at him with the fear of losing either Neymar or Kylian Mbappé in next summer’s transfer window. PSG were reportedly keen on signing him at the beginning of the end of his Arsenal time, when the Chilean rather decided to move to Manchester but the French giants are hoping to get of him for as cheaply as possible.
The report confirmed that someone at United has indicated that all is not well with Sanchez under the current regime and that a move could possibly on the cards.
“It’s no secret he has struggled and not lived up to the expectations. He isn’t getting any younger and it might never work for him. There was interest before the club signed him but he preferred staying in England at the time. That may have changed now,” said the source.
Should Sanchez decide to move to Paris then the move might work out well for both parties as United won’t have to pay an insane amount of money for a player that isn’t in the first-team, while PSG will find a much-needed replacement should they lose Neymar or Mbappé.
