Manchester United star David de Gea has posted footage on Instagram of his return to Carrington training ground as Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side prepare for a potential Premier League restart next month.
United’s number one goalkeeper has played in 29 games in the Premier League under the Norwegian this term, conceding 30 goals and keeping 8 clean sheets.
De Gea can be seen practising his agility and reaction levels in a series of quick-fire drills.
The Spaniard’s hand-eye coordination delighted club legend Rio Ferdinand, who commented “love seeing this bro” on Instagram.
After arriving at Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid for £22.5m back in the summer of 2011, the 29-year-old has made 394 appearances for the Red Devils, saving 138 clean sheets, and letting in 406 goals.
It is fair to say De Gea has struggled for consistency between the sticks this season though, and the veteran is under pressure from newcomer Dean Henderson, who has excelled for Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United so far.
However, fans will no doubt be delighted to see that the Spanish international is determined to prove his doubters wrong, as he has been putting in the work on the training pitch.
