Manchester United: Ed Woodward interest in Mauricio Pochettino has supporters ‘begging’ for managerial move - Manchester United

Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, journalist Duncan Castles has revealed that Manchester United vice-chairman Ed Woodward is ‘keen‘ on bringing former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino to Old Trafford, resulting in plenty of supporters ‘begging‘ for the move to happen.

Pochettino, who guided Tottenham to an unlikely Champions League final last campaign, was sacked by the club at the end of last year, with former Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho replacing him at the helm. The Argentine is currently out of work and this revelation surrounding Woodward’s interest in bringing him to United as a replacement for current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has excited many supporters.

Under Solskjaer this season, United find themselves lying eighth in the table having won just one of their last five Premier League outings, as well as recently bowing out of the Carabao Cup semi-finals at the hands of bitter rivals Manchester City. Consequently, these Red Devils supporters are desperate for a change in leadership, giving their approval to a potential move for Pochettino in order to turn things around.
