Manchester United: Erling Haaland’s comments on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s influence had supporters talking

According to quotes from Viasport courtesy of The 42, Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has opened up on his feelings towards Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, saying that the Red Devils gaffer has been ‘very important‘ in his career.
Haaland, who was a transfer target for United before the Norwegian hitman opted to join Dortmund instead (ESPN), has been on fire this season for both of his clubs, scoring 16 goals in 14 league outings for Red Bull Salzburg and netting seven goals in four appearances for his new employers (Transfermarkt).
Addressing the rumours surrounding his supposed Red Devils move, Haaland has come out to insist that manager Solskjaer has been ‘very important’ for his progression but a move to the Bundesliga felt like the correct decision at this moment in time. United were in desperate need of a striker before signing Odion Ighalo on transfer deadline day, especially due to top scorer Marcus Rashford’s injury.

Give Ole some credit here…
…. he was a good youth coach for us years ago.
Haaland is an adult now and he knew what Ole could & couldn’t do for a coach and he made an informed decision not to work with Ole again that was for his development as a player.

Of course it was. Swerving the mess that’s United is the best idea for any young player at the moment

He loves Ole but loves his career more. Fair play.

I’m a massive #mufc fan but even I would move to Dortmund at that stage of my career for the sake of development. Dortmund have proven to take players to an elite level recently, maybe in a couple of years he’ll be ready to head up our front-line.
