After putting on a sublime showing during Manchester United’s crucial 2-1 derby win at the Etihad on Saturday evening, Martin Keown has come out to praise defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka and hail him as the ‘best one-against-one defender in the Premier League’.
Two early goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial were enough to gift United an unlikely Etihad victory despite a scare late on due to Nicolas Otamendi pulling a goal back, with Wan-Bissaka taking most of the defensive plaudits in the aftermath thanks to his terrific marking of danger man Raheem Sterling.
Sterling, who has been one of City’s outstanding performers this season, was not allowed to show his influence due to Wan-Bissaka’s relentless one-on-one brilliance – with Keown ultimately giving the former Crystal Palace man praise he deserves after the performance.
Speaking to the BBC via United Xtra, the former Arsenal man hailed him as the best one-on-one defender in the league, with United supporters agreeing wholeheartedly on Twitter.
Here’s what they had to say.

Not wrong, guy’s amazing. He needs to improve when going forward, though.
