Some Manchester United fans were left feeling pretty pleased after news regarding the club’s value was released on Tuesday.
According to Forbes (via BBC), Manchester United have dropped four places to sixth in the list of most valuable sports clubs in the world.
The Red Devils have reportedly gone down from £3.31bn all the way to £3.07bn, according to reports in The Manchester Evening News.
Manchester United are known to be a financial powerhouse in the world of sport, having been ahead of both Real Madrid and Barcelona in the list. However, after just three Champions League qualifications in the last six years, the Red Devils have seemingly taken a hit.
Manchester United endured a poor season last campaign after they finished sixth in the Premier League, therefore missing out on Champions League qualification for next season.
However, this news has boosted the mood of the fans who have been part of strenuous protests against the Glazer family’s ownership of the club.
