According to news from the Times, Manchester United are eager to land Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham as part of their plans for the future – with the club also willing to splash out £25 million to secure his services.
A tweet from journalist Duncan Castles has also potentially hinted that Birmingham are open to selling the youngster in this window provided he stays with the squad until 2022, with a lot of United supporters in full agreement that this could potentially be an ‘absolutely perfect’ deal for all parties.
Bellingham, who has scored four goals and assisted one more from midfield over 18 Championship starts this campaign (WhoScored.com), could prove to be a great addition to the Red Devils’ roster in future if his stats compared to Lingard are anything to go by. The 16-year-old has amassed more shots per game (1.1) and a higher average of completed dribbles (1) than Lingard this season – even if he does have some way to go if he hopes to match the Englishman’s superior 87% pass success rate.
While this is debatably because Bellingham plies his trade in a lower league, supporters are still excited over the potential deal they could secure for his services. Find all of their best comments down below.

I definitely hope we sign this lad. He’s a truly phenomenal prospect. Sign him then loan him back to Birmingham for rest of the season & even next season too. Just get him signed up ASAP

This makes sense, he’s 16 now and playing 1st team football in the championship, he would be 18 by the time he comes to the club. Would be beneficial for both parties and the development of the player.

18-month loan with a recall option in 2021 would be smart.
